Srinivasan was alleged to have a conflict of interest during the BCCI probe since Meiyappan was also the team principal of Chennai Super Kings franchise, which is owned by the Indian Cements company of which Srinivasan is the managing director.
The spot-fixing allegations are also being investigated by Indian police, who have framed charges against Meiyappan as well as Rajasthan Royals players Shantakumaran Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan, who are alleged to have under-performed in exchange for money from bookmakers.
Sreesanth and Chavan have been banned for life by the BCCI while a life ban is expected soon on Chandila.
Another Rajasthan Royals player, Siddharth Trivedi, has been banned for one year for not reporting an approach by illegal bookies. Player-turned-bookie Amit Singh has been banned for five years.
