Visakhapatnam: The politics over the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh is casting shadow on one-day International match between India and West Indies scheduled on November 24 at the Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA stadium in the city.
The supporters of United Andhra Pradesh are opposing the holding of the ODI here. The Members of Samaikyandhra non-political Joint Action Committee and others said that holding the match here, amid the agitation against the proposed bifurcation of the state, would send a wrong signal to the Centre, namely, that people of Vizag were not perturbed by the bifurcation plans.
JAC chairman prof V Balamohandas said that pro-united state organisations in the city have decided not to allow the match to be held in the city.
