New Delhi, May 30: The union home ministry Thursday said it has not received any request from the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) for a probe into the Indian Premier League (IPL) spot fixing scandal by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

"We have not received any request from BCCI. Let us receive a request. The question is hypothetical," Home Secretary R.K. Singh told reporters here when asked whether the home ministry has any objection to ordering a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe.

Speaking about the investigations, Singh said: "Our operations have started, they are going on."

S. Sreesanth, Ankit Chavan and Ajit Chandila, who played for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, were arrested in Mumbai by Delhi Police for their alleged involvement in spot fixing in matches for payments up to Rs.60 lakh, and giving away a pre-determined number of runs in an over.

Delhi Police have arrested 26 people in connection with the IPL scandal.
