Bangalore: The second Test between India and South Africa at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore has been called off after rain washed out the fifth day's play.
It was the fourth successive day of the Test during which not a single ball was bowled.
For the first time ever, four full days were washed out in a Test in India.
Play was possible only on Day 1 when India bowled out the South Africans for a modest 214.
The Indians replied with 80/0 before the rain gods decided to play havoc with the Test.
The two teams will face off next in the third Test in Nagpur beginning on November 25.
India holds a 1-0 lead in the series after beating South Africa by 108 runs in the first Test in Mohali.
