BRISBANE, Australia :  Cricket Australia plans to import soil from India to create low-bouncing, spinning wickets at its main training ground in Brisbane, aiding preparation for future tours of India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

Australian players often struggle with the bounce and spin of Indian wickets and others on the subcontinent. Australia lost 4-0 to India last year in its most recent tour there.

CA's high performance manager Pat Howard told The Australian newspaper on Thursday "a third of all our matches are in the subcontinent ... we're never going to make it exactly the same but we're going to try to get as close as we can."

Australia plays its next tests against Pakistan in Dubai and Sharjah in September where the pitches are expected to favor spin.
