Australian coach Darren Lehmann has vowed revenge after becoming the victim of a hilarious prank by two of his own players.

The culprits, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and fast bowler Peter Siddle, were left sweating as they wondered what the payback would be.

The incident, which was filmed and later went viral, occurred on the Australian team's flight to Perth for the second Test.

Marsh and Siddle decided to do an interview with Lehmann but failed to get any response from him.

It was understandable since Lehmann was fast asleep.

The duo also made an attempt to interview fielding coach Greg Blewett with the same result.

Lehmann responded with a cryptic tweet that read "Revenge is sweet!!!".

Siddle was already omitted from the XI for the first Test in Brisbane and this is unlikely to do him any favours as he strives for a comeback.

Marsh played in Brisbane but contributed just 2 runs and 3 wickets. One of those wickets was that of Brendon McCullum who was wrongly given out and the other two were that of tailender Doug Bracewell.

Australia have announced an unchanged XI for the Perth Test, so it looks like Lehmann is in no hurry to take revenge.

As the old saying goes, revenge is a dish that is best served cold.
