Mumbai: Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar today watched his 14-year-old son Arjun play his first club match and later appealed to the media to allow his son lead a normal life.
"My son has played his first club match. During my time,I didn't have pressure from anyone to ask how about following father's footsteps.
"My humble request to ypu is to allow him to live life like a normal 14 year old so he can fall in love with the sport".
Sachin reminisced:"It was in 1987 I was felicitated. I took a rickshaw ride in 1988 which was comfortable. Gavaskar was present then."
"My advice to every sportsperson is: Enjoy every moment. Embrace challenges. Continue to make nation proud. Constistent performances demands positive mental make up".
"Trust your instincts and give your best", he added
Asked about the Relationship between sportsmen and sports journalist, Sachin said:" When a journo pens down his thought so many get to relive those moments.
"My first interview was in 1986 where questions were longer than the answer. Over the years I have learnt to speak longer. I am shy by nature and don't have opinion on everything. But I have had friends who have understood me."
About criticisms about him in the media, Sachin said:"There have been criticism and fiction sometimes. But those are few and far between. As a package, I have no complaints."
