Former Pakistan speedster and captain Wasim Akram has heaped praises on batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar for scoring the lone double century in the history of one day internationals.
"This achievement is all the more creditable as he earned it against a team like South Africa," Akram, the bowling consultant of Kolkata Knight Riders, said in Kolkata.
Asked to compare Sachin with Sir Donald Bradman, he said these two greats were from different eras. "But there is no doubt that Sachin is one of the greatest batsmen ever. It is evident from the fact that he is the highest run getter both in Tests and one day internationals. He is just great in setting records."
"The commitment and passion Sachin displayed in the field is indeed a rare example," he said.
"As a batsman Sachin is absolutely perfect and it is very difficult to plan any strategy against him and get him trapped," Akram said recalling his bowling days against Tendulkar. PTI
