Dubai: Wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed will replace Adnan Akmal in the limited overs squad as the Pakistan Cricket Board announced a 16-member team for the five-match one-day series against South Africa on Saturday.

Opening batsman Mohammad Hafeez, who was dropped for the two-test series after scoring just 102 runs in his last five test matches, returns to the ODI team and is expected to also lead Pakistan in the two Twenty20s against the Proteas, to be played later next month.

Hard-hitting batsman Shahid Afridi, Umar Akmal and Nasir Jamshed will also be part of the one-day squad.

Also returning to the one-day team will be left-arm fast bowlers Wahab Riaz and Sohail Tanvir along with rookie middle-order batsman Sohaib Maqsood.

The one-day series begins Oct. 30 at Sharjah, which also hosts the fifth ODI on Nov. 11. Abu Dhabi's Sheikh Zayed Stadium, where Pakistan defeated South Africa by seven wickets in the first test, will organize two ODIs on Nov. 6 and Nov. 8 while Dubai will host the second ODI on Nov. 1.

Pakistan leads the two-match test series 1-0 with the second test starting in Dubai from Wednesday.
