Islamabad: Pakistan all-rounders Abdul Razzaq and Shoaib Malik were ruled out by injuries from the limited-overs series in South Africa and will return home without being replaced.

The Pakistan Cricket Board announced the decision on Tuesday.

Razzaq pulled a hamstring during practice at the Wanderers last Sunday, while Malik could not recover in time from a blow on his finger during Pakistan's six-run loss against the Proteas in the second T20 at Dubai last Friday.

Both did not bowl in the first T20 which Pakistan lost by nine wickets. Malik scored 12 and 15 while Razzaq made 10 and 0 in the T20s.

The return series in South Africa features two Twenty20s, the first in Johannesburg on Wednesday, followed by three one-day internationals. All five games are packed into 10 days.
