7 Key Indian players to watch out for during India-England test series

New Delhi: Team India is in England and is ready to kick start their first test match against England on July 9. However their last outing to England was something that everyone would like to

VIRAT KOHLI

He was the lone warrior in the tour to Australia in 2012. He scored a century when all the senior batsmen struggled to put bat to ball. He has 6 hundreds to his name in just 24 matches. He scored centuries in his last outings to South Africa and New Zealand.

Virat is by far the most consistent batsman the Indian cricket team has seen in a long time now. He has been prolific when it comes to scoring runs and is widely regarded as the torch bearer of the legendary Indian batting line up of the past. A lot will be expected from the Right Hander and anything less than a series winning performance will be considered a letdown.

RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN

The main strength of Indian spin bowling has been India' first choice spinner since Harbhajan Singh's downfall and has proved worthy of that. He became the fastest Indian bowler to take 100 Test wickets, a feat that came in just 18 matches. He is currently ranked the No.2 Test all-rounder in the world, with a batting average of 40.25. He can bat, he can bowl and he'd be hoping for MS Dhoni and Duncan Fletcher to place their faith in him once again. He's a perfect all-rounder!

AJINKYA RAHANE

After decent run score in IPL 7 for Rajasthan Royals, this time he will be playing it out for Team India but the challenge would be much more difficult in those fast pitches. With 2 half centuries and 1 century in 5 test matches he will be another option as an opener for skipper Dhoni. However Dhawan, Pujara, Murali Vijay, Gambhir and Rohit Sharma already in the side, he have enough choices to decide the opening pair if one pair fails. Ajinkya Rahane would try to grab this opportunity and is expected to give some thunderous start to Indian batting like he gave in IPL for RR.
