GAUTAM GAMBHIR

After a promising seventh edition of Indian Premier League this year and taking his side Kolkata Knight Riders to their second victory title, the flamboyant batsman Gautam Gambhir is finally making his return to international cricket after 18 months. He will be expected to continue his IPL form in England as he will be a great strength to Indian batting line up and his experience will be very useful.

CHETESHWAR PUJARA

He has been long called the successor of Rahul Dravid. The man can play the long innings on demand, is a good player of pace as well as spin and would look to repeat what Dravid did on India's previous visit to the British Isle. Cheteshwar Pujara has struggled to find a place in the Indian one day side but his talent, ability and requirement in the test format is hardly arguable. In his short international career so far, he has 3 50s, 4 100s and 2 double hundreds to his name. Brendon McCullum said about him: “Pujara's wicket is crucial because that guy can bat for weeks.”

ISHANT SHARMA

The only experienced fast bowler present in the Indian side will be holding loads of responsibilities on his shoulders. In the absence of Zaheer Khan, he will be a key bowler in the bowling department. However Bhuvneshwar Kumar is also there to support Ishant from other end but what matters is experience. Mohammad Shami, Pankaj Singh, Varun Aaron and Ishwar Pandey are other pace options for Dhoni but what he would prefer will be the pace that can trouble English batsmen on the fast pitches.
