Star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been granted a break from the first Test match against South Africa, starting on September 28.
The five match ODI rubber between India and Australia starts from September 17 with the first game in Chennai.
It is the first high-profile series in Pakistan since a terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka team bus in Lahore in 2009 led to their isolation from international cricket.
Faulkner, who has played a few match-winning knocks in the past against India said he is looking forward to the upcoming series which starts on September 17 in Chennai.
The 17-year-old all-rounder has previously been a part of the Mumbai Under-14 and Under-16 teams in the past.
Australia have taken a conservative approach by resting the explosive right-hander ahead of the five-match ODI series against India.
Australia will play their first warm-up match against the Board President XI at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on September 12.
"I will be able to look back and say that I played my part in bringing cricket back to Pakistan" stated du Plessis.
The line-up that Australia are going to face has only one capped player in captain Gurkeerat Singh Mann, who played three ODIs against the Kangaroos early in 2016.
