6- Dhoni was picked up for India A for a tri-series against Pakistan A and Kenya as a reserve wicketkeeper behind Dinesh Karthik after a good performance in the 2003-04 domestic season. Fortunately for Dhoni, Karthik was called to the senior Indian team and he got the chance to play in the series. Dhoni scored 362 runs in 6 innings at an average of 72.40 and his performance in the series received attention from the then Indian captain – Sourav Ganguly.
7- Dhoni against Bangladesh on Dec 23, 2004 and was run out for a duck. He was, however, selected for the next series against Pakistan. In the second match of the series which was his fifth ODI, he scored 148 in Vishakapatnam off only 123 deliveries.
8- Dhoni has vast collection of bikes and cars. A Hummer and a X132 Hellcat are among many automobiles parked in his garage in Ranchi.
9- Dhoni married Sakshi, a native of Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Sakshi is 8 years younger than her husband. They have a daughter together named Ziva.
10- Dhoni is an honourary Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Army. He was awarded the rank in 2011. He later revealed that joining the army was one of his childhood dreams.
