New Delhi: This year's Ranji Trophy Tournament saw some very interesting players. Most of the batsmen in the top run getters are from states not considered powerhouses in domestic cricket. Here is the list.Kedar Jadhav (Maharashtra)Jadhav is a right-handed middle-order batsman and occasional off-break bowler. He played in the Indian Premier League with the Delhi Daredevils in 2010. Jadhav has also represented India A and West Zone cricket team. He is an aggressive batsman with attractive strokeplay and is rated highly in domestic circles. Jadhav is the top run getter in this year's Ranji Trophy. He scored 1223 runs in 11 matches at an average of 87.35. he scored six centuries and two fifties. 204 was his highest.Lokesh Rahul (Karnataka)He is a wicketkeeper-batsman who has also played for India in the 2010 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He has also made an appearance for Royal challengers Bangalore Vs Delhi Daredevils in Indian Premier League 2013. He is the second highest run scorer in this season of Ranji Trophy. In 10 matches he made 1004 runs at an average of 71.71. he hit three hundreds and four half centuries. His highest being 158.Harshad Khadiwale (Maharashtra)He is a right-hand opening batsman and a right arm medium-fast bowler. He also represents Pune Warriors in Indian Premier League. Khadiwale made his debut for Maharashtra at the age of 18 against Hyderabad during the 2006/07 season. He scored his first first-class hundred against Tamil Nadu in the first match of the 2007/08 season. He was picked in the West Zone squad for Duleep Trophy.In this Ranji season he made 1004 runs in 11 matches at an average of 59.05. He cracked three ton and four fifties.Saurabh Tiwari (Jharkhand)He is a left-handed middle order batsman. He was one of the key batsmen in the Indian team that won the 2008 U/19 Cricket World Cup in Malaysia. He represented Mumbai Indians from the 2008 Indian Premier League. He has won the Under-23 player of the IPL 2010. He was signed by Royal Challengers Bangalore for the IPL 2011. He was called into the squad for the 2010 Asia Cup, but did not play. He made his ODI debut against Australia in Visakhapatnam in October 2010 after a few first-choice players were rested.For this Ranji season he made 854 runs in seven matches at an average of 65.69. He hit one century and six half centuries.Faiz fazal (Vidharbha)He plays as a left-hand opening batsman. He has previously played for Central, India Red, India Under-19s, Railways, and Rajasthan Royals. In this season he scored 845 in 8 matches at an average of 65.00. 147 being his highest and he hit two hundreds and six fifties. Hanuma Vihari (Hyderabad)He is a right-hand batsman and occasional right arm off break bowler. He was a member of the India Under-19 cricket team that won the 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Australia.Vihari played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League in 2013.Vihari was responsible for one-third of Hyderabad's total in the innings against Andhra in 2013/14 Ranji Trophy opener.In this season he scored 841 runs at an average of 93.44 in eight matches this season. He hit three centuries and four fifties.Yogesh Takawale (Tripura)He made his first-class debut 2005-06 and appeared as a specialist batsman for Maharashtra. Yogesh has played in Ranji Trophy and also was a part of IPL team Mumbai Indians.He made 839 runs in 8 matches at an average of 59.92. he cracked three hundreds and three fifties and 212 being his highest.Naman Ojha (Madhya Pradesh)He is a wicket keeper and a hard hitting batsman.He represented Delhi Daredevils IPL 2013. He started his "First-class" Cricket career in 2000/01 from Madhya Pradesh Cricketer. He has played in altogether 50 "First-class" matches with an average of 33.07. His total score in these matches is 2811 runs, which includes one century and 24 half-centuries.In the 2013-14 season he scored 835 runs in seven matches at an average of 69.58. he scored four centuries and one half century. His highest score was 211.Mahesh Rawat (Railways)He is a wicket-keeper/batsman who represented Pune Warriors in IPL 2013.He is an alumnus of National Cricket Academy, Bangalore.He made 820 runs in nine matches at an average of 68.33. He hit one ton and three fifties.. 188 was his highest score.Jiwanjot Singh (Punjab)He is a right-hand opening batsman. Jiwanjot made his first class debut in 2012/13 against Hyderabad. On debut he scored 213. In the next game against Bengal, he made 158. He finished the season with 995 runs from 10 matches with five hundreds and two fifties at an average of 66.33.In this season he scored 802 runs in 10 matches at an average of 47.17. He hit two hundreds and four fifties. 200 was his highest.
