Shahid Afridi's comments on Kashmir has taken a turn for the worse as the former Pakistan captain faces a fierce backlash from the Indian cricketers and citizens and it is now Team India opener Shikhar Dhawan who has given Afridi a piece of his mind on the remarks made by him.
Dhawan took to Twitter to respond to Afridi'a comments and it seems by the opener's statement that he has been quite agitated by Afridi's remarks. Dhawan wrote: "Pehle khudke desh ki haalat sudharo. Apni soch apne paas rakho. Apne desh ka joh hum kar rahe hai woh acha hi hai aur aage jo karna hai woh humein ache se pata hai. Zyaada dimaag mat lagao @SAfridiOfficial" (First, improve the conditions of your country. Keep your thoughts to yourself. We know we are doing for our nation and we will continue to do so in future. You don't need to meddle into it).
Afridi had earlier on posted a status on Twitter regarding Kashmir which has left the Indians angered. "Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren't they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?."
Earlier, Indian cricketers such as Kapil Dev, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Mohammed Kaif and Sachin Tendulkar had weighed their opinions on the matter as well.

This is not the first time where Afridi has made inappropriate remarks over Kashmir. He had earlier in 2016 caused a stir by saying that a lot of support for the Pakistan cricket team in the 2016 World T20 has come from Kashmir.
