Mohali: Yograj Singh, former Indian test cricketer and father of Yuvraj Singh, lashed out at Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Saturday for not giving his son ample bowling chances and shuffling his batting order.

In an interview to a leading daily, Yograj Singh slammed M S Dhoni for his unfair treatment towards Yuvraj.

"There is great pain in my heart about the way my son is being treated. Why was he dropped from the Indian team? Is it because of the (2014 World T20) final against Sri Lanka?” said Yograj Singh.

"There are bloody 10,000 cricketers playing for the country. They have not been performing time and again, but why do you have different yardsticks for different people”, he further added.

Furiously expressing his criticism of Indian captain MS Dhoni over shuffling of his son’s batting position, Yograj said, “I have played under the greatest captain — Ashok Mankad — so I know what is going around. After not playing international cricket for two years and then making a comeback is fantastic -- hats off to him. The captain expects him to perform and then suddenly drops him to No 7 (against Bangladesh).

Continuing his blistering attack on Dhoni for changing Yuvraj’s batting position, he asked, “What the f**k is happening? What is the captain trying to prove?”

“When shuffling happens too often, questions arise in the mind (of the player) and that this is not cricket. A player wonders whether he is needed or not. The captain has to be very careful in what he is dealing with.” the former Indian cricketer further added.

Yograj Singh also blasted on MS Dhoni for not giving the ball to Yuvraj even on turning wickets that supported slow bowlers.

“If he (Dhoni) does not like him, he should bloody well tell the selectors about it. If he has got anything personal with him, he can take it out, but by doing this, you are destroying the team. Imagine Yuvraj not bowling on such turning wickets where he has claimed 15 wickets in the 2011 World Cup. The world is watching this,” said Yograj.

This is not the first time when Yograj Singh has targeted Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Earlier, in 2015, when Yuvraj was excluded from the team squad for the ICC World Cup 2015, Yograj Singh had launched a similar tirade against Dhoni.

“Dhoni was nothing. He has become a God in cricket just because of media. Media has crowned him as a great which he never deserved. There was a time when he had nothing but today he sits in front of media and rips off the media persons. He laughs at media who has given him so much hype. He laughs at the Indian people who clap when he scores a run.” he had said.
