Team India trains at The Oval.

Team India trained for the first time on Thursday after reaching England on Wednesday. The team members trained at The Oval, where India will play in the first of the two warm-up games against New Zealand on May 25.

This is the first World Cup for Virat Kohli as the captain of the side. The Indian batsman has earlier lifted the trophy in 2011 under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

India will play two warm-up games, with the second one being against Bangladesh on May 28. Host side England will play the opener on May 30 against South Africa, while India will take on the Proteas in their first game of the tournament on June 5.

India's first-choice 15-member squad has travelled to England after significant speculation over the fitness of certain players.

The Indian skipper posted the pictures from India's first training session, which was conducted by team's coach Ravi Shastri. Virat posted the pictures on Twitter, with the caption, "Back with it with the boys."

The side will travel to Cardiff to take on Bangladesh for the second warm-up game.
