Indian women lose title but win hearts: From PM Modi to Sachin Tendulkar, Twitterati proud of Mithali Raj's girls

England emerged as the winner of ICC Women's World Cup as India lost by 9 runs in a thrilling final at Lord's. Celebrities and cricketers wish the Indian team for their incredible performance in the tournament.

England beat India to lift the ICC Women's World Cup title at Lord's in London. Despite the runners-up finish, the Indian women cricket team have done the entire nation proud with their brilliant performance in the tournament. Even though the women in blue could not lift the coveted cup, reaching the finals is a big achievement in itself for the young Indian side. The Mithali Raj led team has played extraordinary cricket in this tournament and certainly deserve a pat on their back for showing undying spirit and true passion against the best sides in the world. This is the second times India have finished as the second-best team in World Cup final, they had earlier lost in the finals to Australia in 2005.

The entire nation acknowledges the effort put in by the women cricketers. It was a nail biting final as both the teams gave their all to win the match.  However, it was the hosts England who held their nerves and came out on top as the winners in the ICC Women's World Cup 2017.  The performance of the India women's team in this tournament have also taken the sport to the next level among and have let people sit and admire the effort of our valiant superwomen.

Indian cricketers and celebrities send out their wishes to the Indian women's team on the tough loss in the World Cup final.
