Former India opener and a self-confessed fan of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag on Tuesday wished the Master Blaster, who turned 45 today, in his unique style. Sehwag, who along with Tendulkar, formed one of the greatest opening pairs in international cricket, took to Twitter to wish the batting legend on his birthday.
"Woh sirf ek cricketer nahi, duniya hai meri! (He is not just a cricketer, but my life!). Many more happy returns of the day to a man who could stop time in India (literally). Thank you for making the Cricket Bat such a great weapon, which later many like me could also use," Sehwag wrote.
Warm birthday wishes poured in for legendary Indian cricketer from every corner of the world as the 'God of Cricket' turned 45.
Considered as one of the greatest batsmen of all time, Tendulkar is the highest run scorer of all time in international cricket, having notched up 18,426 ODI runs and 15,921 runs in Test cricket.
He is the only cricketer to have hit 100 international centuries, and the first to score a double century in ODIs.
Tendulkar received India's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna in 2014. He is the youngest recipient to date and the first ever sportsperson to receive the award.
