Bengaluru: Enjoying one of the best phases in his career, Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli today smashed his fourth ton of the Indian Premier League season 9 in a must-win clash against Kings XI Punjab.
With multiple stitches in his split webbing in his left hand, Kohli smashed a magical 113 runs in just 50 balls with a strike rate of 266.66 that included twelve speedy fours and eight high-rise sixes.
Affected with rain, the over-limit was reduced to 15 overs for each side. Kohli along with Chris Gayle (73 off just 32 balls) guided Royal Challengers Bangalore to a massive 211 for three wickets in the allotted 15 overs.
Kohli, with his extravagant batting form in the ongoing IPL, has already broken a flurry of records.
During his 75-run inning against Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous match, Kohli became the highest run scorer in a single IPL season.
He has so far scored 865 runs in 13 innings with an average of 86.50, including four centuries and five half centuries.
Virat is also the only batsman to smash four centuries in a single IPL season.
