After leading Pakistan to a memorable triumph in the ICC Champions Trophy last year, Sarfaraz Ahmed is having a tough time as the skipper on the cricket field. The green brigade is currently on an unforgettable tour of New Zealand. After being whitewashed 5-0 in the ODIs, the visitors hope for a change of fortune in the T20I series but the script hasn't changed much.
During the first T20I against New Zealand in Wellington, Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed did something for which he is getting trolled on the social media. The wicketkeeper-batsman tried a stunt exactly like India’s former captain MS Dhoni to avoid the stumping, but he failed miserably in attempting that and got out. After that, social media took a sarcastic jibe on Sarfaraz and trolled him. Dhoni had saved himself from stumping with a similar tactic in a T20 match against New Zealand in November.
On the first delivery of the 10th over from Mitchell Santner, Sarfaraz went for a sweep. The hilarious moment was created as he slipped, leaving him in split literally and got out stumped. Sarfraz Ahmed departed only after scoring nine runs.
Here are some hilarious Twitter reactions on Sarfaraz' stumping:
In the first T20I, Pakistan were bundled out for a paltry 105. The hosts chased down the target with 7 wickets in hand and 25 balls to spare and. Opener Munro was left unbeaten on 49 when a wide by Hasan Ali in the 16th over allowed New Zealand to pass their 105-run target. The win have kept New Zealand undefeated after 13 matches across all three formats in the past two months including five one-dayers against Pakistan and a series of Tests, ODIs and Twenty20s against the West Indies.
