The Indian cricket witnessed an astonishing period in 2017 with both Team India and players achieving many feats. India ended home season, thrashing teams like England, New Zealand and Sri Lanka, while captain Virat Kohli and other prominent batsmen such as Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan continued to pile up runs in India’s emphatic victories.

Under the captaincy of Kohli, the Indian team won nine series on the trot in the longer format before concluding the year being as the No.1 side in the ICC Test Rankings. Among all the celebrations, most enjoyable was vibrant wedding ceremonies of some of our favourite Indian cricketers.

As all the newly-wed pairs are set to enter the new year 2018, let’s recall who all joined the league of married cricketers this year.

Virat Kohli

Undoubtedly, the biggest and most anticipated wedding this year was of Indian captain Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma. After dating each other for more than five years, the star couple tied the knot in a secret but grand wedding in Italy on December 11.

Amid much speculation, Kohli and Anushka flew to Tuscany along with families and close friends. Following the wedding, Virushka spent some quality time in Arctic and Nordic regions in Finland before returning to India.

The newly-weds hosted two receptions in New Delhi and Mumbai on December 22 and December 26 respectively. The Delhi event was graced by PM Narendra Modi, while the Mumbai one saw stars from various fields showing up to heap blessings on the lovely pair.

Krunal Pandya

A week after Kohli’s wedding, Mumbai Indians’ celebrated all-rounder Krunal Pandya decided to marry his long-time girlfriend and model Pankhuri Sharma.

Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya joined elder brother’s occasion just after Sri Lanka series. Krunal and Pankhuri got married at a grand ceremony in Mumbai on December 27.

Bigwigs of Bollywood, cricket and corporate world such as Amitabh Bachchan, Sachin Tendulkar and Mukesh Ambani joined Krunal's party.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Before Kohli and Krunal, India’s fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar lost his heart to long-time friend Nupur Nagar, with whom he tied the knot in a low-key affair in his hometown Meerut on November 23.

The 27-year-old, who has played 123 international matches for India, hosted a sparkling reception for his teammates in New Delhi on November 30.

Zaheer Khan

Former India pacer Zaheer Khan also joined the list of married cricketer on November 23. The 39-year-old avoided much pomp and grandeur and tied the knot with Bollywood actress Sagarika Ghatge in a low-key court marriage.

The couple, however, hosted a reception party for friends and family at the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai on November 27. Zaheer and Sagarika were first spotted together in the wedding ceremony of cricket-Bollywood pair of Yuvraj Singh and Hazel Keech in December 2016, before getting engaged in April 2017.
