Indian cricket team and Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli wished women cricketers Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur as they gear up to lead IPL Trailblazers and IPL Supernovas respectively in a one-of-its-kind exhibition match at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on Tuesday.
"A message from Team India Skipper Virat Kohli for Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur as they gear up for the Women's T20 Challenge tomorrow," the IPL captioned the video.
"I am really excited to know that there has been a T20 league for women announced. There's going to be a game on May 22 at Wankhede Stadium. It's more like a teaser or trailer for that particular league," Kohli said in the video.
Heaping praises on the women's cricket sensations Mandhana and Harmanpreet, the 29-year-old Delhi batsman added: "Smriti and Harman are going to lead their respective teams. So, I wish you all the best.
"Take out your teams on the park and play with the passion that you have shown for the nation. Show people what they should look forward to when they come and watch the women's T20 league as well," Kohli concluded his heartfelt message.
