Virat Kohli returned with figures of 1/27 from 7 overs.

Virat Kohli once said that he doesn't know what he bowls and how he bowls and therefore, he tries not to bowl as much these days.

But we all know conditions are very tempting for pacers in Australia and it looks like the Team India captain couldn't resist the urge to roll his arm over.

The 30-year-old bowled a few overs on Day 3 of the warm-up game against Cricket Australia XI but went wicketless. After the day's play the team's lead spinner Ravichandran Aswhwin joked about how he was showing the main bowlers where to bowl on that pitch and it was nothing serious.

But on Saturday, Kohli took his game up a level. The medium-pacer got a wicket and that too of a batsman, who just completed his century.

Kohli bowled a half-tracker and Harry Nielsen skied one but the ball could only go as far as mid-off and Umesh Yadav completed a simple catch  much to the team and Kohli's delight. But, Kohli's emotion was one for the tapes. As soon as Nielsen hit the ball, he knew that it was going nowhere and started laughing by covering his face and when the catch was completed, he couldn't help but burst out in laughter. Kohli ended the Cricket Australia XI's stay at the crease after a well-made 100 off 170 balls.

However, as surprised as he might be, this was not Kohli's first wicket ever. He has taken four wickets each in ODIs, T20Is and List A cricket and also grabbed three in first-class games.

But despite Kohli taking the crucial wicket, Daniel Fallins, Jackson Coleman and Luke Robins made sure that the home side score 544 and give their bowlers a lead of 186 runs.

Kohli returned with figures of 1/27 from 7 overs. Apart from him, Mohammad Shami took three wickets while Jasprit Bumrah, Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma bagged a wicket each. Ashwin also got two wickets.

However, India came out positively and it looked like they have already kept Prithvi Shaw's injury while fielding in the past as KL Rahul and  Murali Vijay put on an opening stand over hundred before the former fell for 62, thus ending the stand of 109 for the first wicket.

Vijay also scored a crucial fifty ahead of the first Test at the Adelaide Oval, which is starting on December 6.
