In New Zealand's one-day domestic cricket match, two batsmen from Northern Districts set a new world record of scoring the most runs in an over. Batsmen Joe Carter and Brett Hampton smashed 43 runs in an over - 4, 6, 6, 6, 1, 6, 6, 6.

It was during the match between Northern Districts and Central Districts when the two batsmen went on to shatter records and make a new one. The two teams were playing in the Ford Trophy tournament. 

The pair hit 4, 6 from a no-ball, 6 from another no-ball, 1, 6, 6 and 6 of Central Districts' medium fast bowler Willem Ludick. Take a look. 

Ludick was bowling his 10th over with figures of 1/42, but returned with 1/85. 

The previous record for a List-A one day match was 39 runs off an over, which was set by Zimbabwe's Elton Chigumbura while batting for Jamal Dhanmodi against Abahani Ltd in the Dhaka Premier League.
