After spending two seasons with the Rising Pune Supergiant, it seems Mahendra Singh Dhoni can't wait to get back to his old home. Dhoni was on Thursday retained by Chennai Super Kings along with Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja. The announcements were made at the IPL 2018 Player Retention event held in Mumbai. CSK tweeted a video of Dhoni signing his contract papers where Mahi can be heard saying "back home".

Dhoni's daughter Ziva was also seen in the video.

Dhoni was retained for a sum of 15 crores, while Raina was retained for 11 crores and Jadeja will be paid 7 crores.

The former India captain is one of the most successful skippers in IPL history. He has led CSK to two IPL and Champions League titles.

However, Dhoni's stint with the Rising Pune Supergiant didn't go as planned and he was replaced by Steve Smith as captain last year.

Meanwhile, two-time champions CSK are making a return to the cash-rich league after serving a two-year suspension due to its officials who were found guilty of being involved in betting and illegal match practices.

Ravindra Jadeja who was earlier retained as well had shared his delightedness on his return to the team.

Suresh Raina as well expressed his enlightenment on his return to the Southern team.
