Indian women's team captain Harmanpreet Kaur may be ruthless on field, but this action was surely heartwarming. It was just before the clash with Pakistan in the ICC Women's World T20 match, the skipper carried an unwell mascot off the field before heading to play.
Harmanpreet was along with the mascot - a little girl, and the players while the Indian national anthem was being played. She held on to the little girl during the anthem as she seemed unwell. Once the anthem finished, the skipper picked her up and carried her towards people who could tend to her health.
The incident took place on November 11 when India were facing off with arch-rivals Pakistan in the Group B clash of the ICC Women's World T20 in Guyana.
A video immediately went viral on social media. Take a look.
Twitterattis soon lauded the skipper for her class act of gesture.
Harmanpreet recently struck a blistering 49-ball century in the tournament opener against New Zealand and became the first Indian woman to slam a century in T20 cricket. Her ton also led India to post the highest total in women's T20 cricket - 194/5.
The Indian eves comfortably handed the Kiwis a loss by 34 runs.
In the India-Pakistan clash, Veteran Mithali Raj smashed an aggressive half-century to guide India to an easy 7-wicket victory. She anchored the Indian run chase with a 47-ball 56 which she made with the help of seven fours in the Group B match which was marred by unprecedented docking of 10 penalty runs on Pakistan.
