In recent times, spinners have been the ones to look out for in a T20 format as the pressure lingers right from start to finish and one such moment occurred in the English domestic T20 league, the Vitality Blast, between the Birmingham Bears and Lancashire Lightning.
It was Birmingham's leg-spinner Josh Poysden, who stole the show with an absolute ripper, leaving all dumbfounded and a delivery which would make legendary spinner Shane Warne proud.
Poysden pitched the ball on the middle and leg and was able to knock off the off-stump, leaving Lancashire's batsman Steven Croft stunned. Was it anywhere close to Warne's 'Ball of the Century'?. You be the judge. Take a look.
The Birmingham leg-spinner had a figure of 1/18 as Lancashire were dismissed for 102 in the first innings of the match. Birmingham Bears comfortably chased down the target in 14.1 overs, thus keeping alive their chances of making it to the quarter-finals of the tournament.
The loss didn't matter for Lancashire as they have already secured a place in the last eight.
Besides Poysden, the No.1 T20I bowler Rashid Khan has also been wreaking havoc in the Vitality Blast as well. The Afghani, who plays for Sussex Sharks, has been keeping in form in the shortest format of the game. Take a look at one of his unreadable spells in the English T20 domestic league.
