Adopting all possible measures to improve their performance in the next season of the Indian Premier League, Preity Zina-owned Kings XI Punjab is now planning to hire India’s former opening batsman Virender Sehwag as their head coach following the departure of Sanjay Bangar.
According to a Times of India report, Sehwag may be appointed as the coach for the next edition.
On Friday, Kings XI parted ways with Sanjay Bangar, who has been the coach of Kings XI since 2014.
Under him, the franchise has finished at the bottom of pile in the eight-team league for the last two seasons.
Bangar is currently busy with Indian team as its batting coach.
Interestingly, Sehwag has been mentoring the side for last two years and it remains to be seen how effective he would be as a coach.
The 2017 season of the Indian Premier League will probably kick-start in May. The schedule is yet to announce.
