Furious over Liton Das' controversial dismissal that weakened Bangladesh's position in the 2018 Asia Cup final match against India, a group of Bangladeshi fans hacked Virat Kohli's website in protest against "cheating" in the summit clash.
Even though it was Rohit Sharma, who led India to their seventh title at Asia Cup, Bangladeshi fans decided to express their anger through the website of the Indian skipper.
In the final in Dubai, Das was stumped by MS Dhoni after he scored 121 runs off 117 deliveries. His dismissal was approved by the third umpire, though the decision wasn't much supported by fans and critics alike.
According to the reports published in Dhaka Tribune, a group of Bangladeshi fans, known as the Cyber Security and Intelligence (CSI), hacked the Indian captain's website and posted pictures of the controversial dismissal.
They also asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to justify the dismissal and warned that such sites will be hacked again.
“Dear ICC, Didn’t Cricket use to be a gentlemen’s game? Shouldn’t every team have fair rights? Please explain how it was out? If you don’t officially apologize to the whole world and take actions against the umpire then get ready to be hacked every single time you recover the site,” read the message posted on the website.
“And my fellow Indian brothers and sisters, We mean no disrespect to you guys. Please think about it. How would you feel if injustice was done with your team? Every single national team should be treated equally in the game,” the note read further.
