Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has dedicated his side's 14-run win over defending champions Mumbai Indians to his wife Anushka Sharma on her birthday. "Jeez, we needed that win. Very important win at such an important stage of the tournament. In the last couple of games, we were picking up. Tonight was an occasion we need that two points. This is the push we needed.
"We had good intent, results are around the corner. The result went our way. We should take this confidence forward," Kohli said.
The 29-year-old Kohli said he was happy to win the match in front of his wife and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma, who celebrated her 30th birthday on Tuesday.
"My wife (Anushka Sharma) is here and it's her birthday, so happy that she could see us win. This was a little gift for her. Happy to earn the two points in front of her," Kohli said.
Anushka was present at the M Chinnaswamy stands to cheer for her husband and the couple celebrated the double delight in a special way post the match.
Anushka posted a picture on her official Instagram account with a caption: "Best birthday with the bestest, kindest, bravest man in the world . Love you for making it so special my love."
