India captain Virat Kohli and Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently shared the stage for an upcoming chat show where the Delhi cricketer revealed some candid details about his personal life. The show was shot on Tuesday in Mumbai and will be aired on Diwali. According to Sameer Allana, who attended the show, Kohli opened up on his relationship with actor Anushka Sharma and also revealed the secret behind his nickname "Cheeku" during a freewheeling chat with Aamir.
Kohli said he and Anushka have great understanding and the actor has helped him improve as a person the last 3-4 years. However, the 28-year-old cricketer said one thing he dislikes about Anushka is that she is always 5-7 minutes late.
"I love that she's honest and always caring. I don't hate but one thing I dislike is that she's always 5-7 minutes late. She's been with me throughout and we have a great understanding. She's improved me as a person in last 3-4 years that we've been together," Kohli said.
Kohli, who is considered as one of the best batsmen of this generation, revealed how he got the nickname "Cheeku".
"During the Under 17, I had a haircut due to which my ears looked big. So everyone called me ‘Cheeku' (rabbit). Eventually MS Dhoni started and stump mic did it's job," he said.
'Virat Kohli likes to show off, roams shirtless in dressing room'
A few videos were also played during the course of the show which showed some of their close friends speaking about what they like and dislike about the two stars.
Batsmen KL Rahul, who is also Kohli's teammate in IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore, said he liked Kohli's fitness and improvement in his game. Talking on what he dislikes about Kohli, Rahul said: "He likes to show off, roams shirtless in the changing room, and always on the phone."
Kohli also revealed his favourite Aamir Khan movies - Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, 3 Idiots and PK. Following which, Aamir responded: "Haan woh toh pasand aayegi hi! (Ofcourse you would like that movie!). The 2014 Bollywood film ‘PK' featured Anushka as the lead actress opposite Aamir.
Speaking on the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka, the Indian captain said: "Mujhe darr lag raha tha Malinga yorker nahi daale, already I was nervous. But after 2-3 balls, I settled down. (I was afraid of facing Lasith Malinga's yorker. I was already nervous but I settled down after a few deliveries).
