India captain Virat Kohli on Tuesday congratulated Ravindra Jadeja on becoming the world's top-ranked all-rounder and retaining his top spot in the bowlers' rankings as well. Jadeja today edged out Bangladesh's Shakib Al Hasan to claim the top-rank among all-rounders apart from maintaining pole position in the bowlers' chart in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) rankings.
Jadeja currently has 438 points among the all-rounders while Shakib has 431 points. The Saurashtra man has also retained his top position in the Test bowlers' list.
Kohli took to Twitter to share a special message for Jadeja, who has been one of the team's vital cogs.
Incidentally, the match which put Jadeja on top of the heap is also the one where he breached ICC Code of Conduct to be handed a one-Test suspension.
In the recently-concluded second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo, which India won by an innings and 53 runs, Jadeja contributed an unbeaten 70 and also took seven wickets, including a five-for.
Jadeja also gained nine places to take 51st rank among batsmen while India's wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha has attained a career-best 44th position after moving up four places.
