Indian cricket team switched their party mode on after clinching the Border-Gavaskar trophy on Australian soil for the first time in 71 years.

Team India opener KL Rahul took to Twitter to share the images of the happening party after the series win. In the couple of photos tweeted by the stylish batsman, Indian skipper Virat Kohli's wife Anushka Sharma was also present alongside winning members of team.

Rahul, who is very much active on social media platforms tweeted, "About Last Night! #Fam." 

Kohli and Co. became the first Asian team to beat the Kangaroos at their home, they retained the iconic Border-Gavaskar trophy by 2-1. India won the first Test in Adelaide and third in Melbourne while hosts had the upper hand in Perth. 

Things turned out to be a bit of anti-climactic in the end at the Sydney Cricket Ground as India had a fair chance of adding insult to the injury with a 3-1 victory margin as they got the home team to follow-on in their den for the first time in 30 years after scoring 622 in their only innings.

It was a 'freeze the frame' as the Indian team took a 'Lap of Honour' of the SCG with both Indian and Australian fans cheering them.

Indian players also gained huge on the latest ICC Test rankings as Cheteshwar Pujara moved to third in the latest ICC batsmen rankings, following his man of the series performance in the series.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has jumped as many as 21 places to be 17th, the joint-highest by a specialist India wicketkeeper along with Farokh Engineer, who did so in January 1973. MS Dhoni's highest Test ranking was 19th.

India captain Virat Kohli has maintained his number one position in the batsmen rankings.

While, spinner Kuldeep Yadav has gained seven slots to reach a career-best 45th position after his figures of five for 99 in Australia’s first innings even as Jasprit Bumrah has held on to 16th position and Mohammed Shami has gained one place to take the 22nd slot. Jadeja has gained one place to reach fifth among bowlers and has also leapfrogged Windies captain Jason Holder into second place among all-rounders.
