Shreyas Iyer and Prithvi Shaw hit blistering hundreds to help Mumbai pile on 400 for five in fifty overs and defeat Railways by 173 runs on Sunday to record a third successive win in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Bengaluru.
After opting to bat, it was a dominant show from Mumbai. Iyer (144 in 118 balls) and Shaw (129 in 81 balls) brutally punished a listless Railways attack.
After that they bundled out the opposition for 227 in 42.4 overs, with Shams Mulani returning with figures of 3-26.
Mumbai is only the second side in domestic cricket to record 400 or plus score after Madhya Pradesh's 412/6 versus Railways in 2010.
After Mumbai skipper Ajinkya Rahane (3) departed early, it was the Iyer-Shaw duo who stole the limelight at the famed M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
While Iyer smashed eight fours and ten sixes, teen-sensation Shaw had 14 fours and six other hits over the fence. The two conjured a 161-run stand for the second wicket to lay foundation for a big total.
18-year-old Shaw, who missed a hundred by a whisker in the first game, completed his maiden List-A century for Mumbai. And it just took 61 balls for the right-handed Shaw to complete his breath-taking hundred.
After Shaw departed, Iyer continued the onslaught before being caught by Harsh Tyagi off Anupreet Singh. Experienced Surya Kumar Yadav (67) and Siddesh Lad (30 not out) helped Mumbai reach the 400-run mark.
It was an uphill task for Railways and they were never in the fray. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals before being bundled out for 227.
Railways skipper Saurabh Wakaskar (48), Prashant Awasthi (41) and Ankit Yadav (35 not out) showed some resistance, but that wasn't enough to take their side home.
In the first two games, Mumbai had defeated Baroda by nine wickets and Karnataka by 88 runs, respectively.
In the other two Elite Group A matches, Himachal Pradesh put on a splendid performance to outclass Goa by four wickets in a low-scoring match at Alur.
Riding on Ankit Bawne's unbeaten hundred and Satyajeet Bachchav's five-wicket-haul, Maharashtra defeated Punjab by 94 runs in Bengaluru.

In a rain-hit Group B match, Saurashtra defeated Hyderabad by seven wickets via VJD method in New Delhi. Pacer Jaydev Unadkat picked up four wickets helping Saurashtra limit to 196 for nine in 45 overs. Bavanaka Sandeep top-scored for Hyderabad with 76 and Kolla Sumanth contributed with 47.
Set a revised target of 110 runs in 20 overs due to rain, Saurashtra had little difficulty in getting home. They completed the task in 18.5 overs with opener Robin Uthappa scoring 35.
Arpit Vasavada and Prerak Mankad remained unbeaten on 23 and 27 respectively in the game played at Palam Ground.
In another rain-hit Group B match, Kerala beat Chattisgarh by six wickets via VJD method at the Ferozshah Kotla.
All-rounder Jalaj Saxena picked up four wickets with his off-spin as Kerala skittled out Chattisgarh for 138 in 39.5 overs. Set a revised target of 133 from 45 overs, Kerala eased to victory in 40 overs with the loss of four wickets. Saxena also starred with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 58 off 120 balls.
The match between Uttar Pradesh and Odisha was abandoned after the former played out 15 overs, reaching 95 for two.
In Chennai, Left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore starred with a five-wicket haul as host Tamil Nadu edged out Rajasthan by one wicket for their second win.
In a match played at the TI-Murugappa ground where Shahbaz Nadeem returned with a world record List 'A' a few days ago, Tamil Nadu bowled out its rival for 133 in 37.1 overs after skipper B Indrajith won the toss and elected to field first.
Rajasthan was on the backfoot in the very first over as Amitkumar Gautam was leg-before wicket to M Mohammed off the second ball.
Sai Kishore, who picked up the experienced Robin Bist for 36-ball six, got into the act and picked up two more quick wickets to leave the rivals at 24 for 4.
Tajinder Dillon, who came in at No.7, was the only Rajasthan batsman to offer resistance with a knock of 55 (58b, 6x4s, 3x6) as the innings folded for 133.
Dhillon and Abhimanyu Lamba added 58 runs in 70 balls for the eight wicket from 66 for 7.
Sai Kishore finished with 5 for 39, his second five-wicket haul in List A matches while young mystery spinner C V Varun took three for 28.
In response, Tamil Nadu didn't have things easy as experienced Abhinav Mukund fell for a duck in the opening over.
Things got worse as N Jagadeesan, centurion in the previous match and stand-in skipper Indrajith followed in quick succession to leave TN at 8 for 3.
M Kaushik Gandhi (18) and B Aparajith (17) strung together a partnership before the former was run-out.
Later, Aparajith fell to Rahul Chahar.
The left-handed B Anirudh Sitaram contributed a vital 40 (3x4) but the team looked in trouble at 113 for 9 when he departed.
However, Mohammed (22 not out) and a determined T Natarajan (7 not out) saw Tamil Nadu home amid mounting tension.
Rahul Chahar took three for 35 in a disciplined bowling effort by the Rajasthan team.
In another match, Tripura opener Smit Patel's brilliant ton went in vain as the team went down by nine runs at the M A Chidambaram stadium while Haryana kept winning, beating Jammu & Kashmir by three wickets in a low-scoring game at the SRMC turf ground.

In Vadodara, KB Pawan smashed an unbeaten 83 off 91 balls to guide Nagaland to an easy seven-wicket victory over Sikkim.
Put in to bat, Sikkim managed a paltry 121 in 49 overs with seven of their batsmen failing to reach double figures. Ashish Thapa was the top scorer with 46 off 115 balls with five boundaries.
Thapa and Plazor Tamang (22) added 53 runs for the third wicket, which was the only significant partnership for Sikkim, who are not availing the services of any outstation players in their debut first-class season.
Ravi Maurya, Imliwati Lemtur and Tamheed Rahman got two wicket apiece.
In reply, Nagaland scored the runs in 26.2 overs with former Karnataka Ranji player Pawan hitting eight fours and two sixes. The second highest scorer was Abrar Kazi with 18.
This was Nagaland's second win in three games while Sikkim have lost all their matches till now.
