There is no stopping a 'Gaylestorm' once it gets going and Chris Gayle has now become the only player to smash 300 IPL sixes and that to leading the charts by a massive margin. The 'Universe Boss' struck his 300th six in Match 9 of the Indian Premier League clash between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians in Mohali.
It has taken Gayle 114 innings to reach 300 sixes, whereas it only took him 37 innings to reach 100 and 69 innings to 200 IPL sixes. Leading from the front in the all-time records, Gayle is right on top by a large margin. In second place is RCB's AB de Villiers, who has only hit 192 sixes so far in 131 innings played.
The third spot is occupied by Chennai Super Kings skipper, MS Dhoni, with a total of 187 sixes so far.
Earlier, Hardik Pandya once again provided the final flourish after yet another middle-order collapse as Mumbai Indians managed 176 for 7 against Kings XI Punjab in an Indian Premier League encounter on Saturday.
Quinton de Kock with a 39-ball-60 created a platform which the middle-order, unfortunately, didn't make full use of before Hardik smashed 31 off 19 balls to enable MI get past 175-run mark.
