Aaron Finch will make his Test debut against Pakistan

Australian batsman Aaron Finch, who will be making his International Test debut during his side's two-match Test series against Pakistan in UAE, has said that he grew up dreaming about playing Test cricket for his nation and now that he is so close to that, it means a lot to him.

"It would mean a lot (to make his debut). You grow up in the backyard dreaming of playing Test cricket and getting a Baggy Green. It's closer now than it ever has been before," Cricket.com.au quoted Finch, as saying.

The 31-year-old, who holds an impressive average of 38.19 in one-day matches and 45.6 in the T20 internationals, further revealed that his success in the limited-over format is because of his aggressive approach.

He, however, added that it would be all about playing his natural game against Pakistan in the Tests.

"Being aggressive has made me reasonably successful in international cricket in the two shorter formats," Finch explains.

"Pakistan are a side that tend to bowl a lot more spin with the new ball, particularly in the second innings. It's just about sticking to your natural game, playing to your strengths. When that happens, you give yourself a higher chance of success," he added.

Australia are slated to play their first Test against Pakistan from October 7 in Dubai followed by the second match at Abu Dhabi from October 16.
