Spirited to start the away season with a strong performance, Virat Kohli-led Indian cricket team appeared practicing for the first Test indoors due to a wet outfield at the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town.
Indian Cricket Team shared some of the pictures from the practice session ahead of the first Test, be held in Cape Town from January 5 to 9.
"And we've moved indoors for the training session #TeamIndia," Indian Cricket Team wrote on Instagram.
Indian opener Murali Vijay, who might open Indian innings with KL Rahul in the absence of injured Shikhar Dhawan, was also seen sweating hard inside the nets. The 33-year-old Chennai batsman scored 292 runs in four innings during India's recent home series against Sri Lanka.
Vijay was seen lost in some thoughts and that's why Indian Cricket Team captioned his picture "Thoughts".
While others were busy polishing their skills, wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha decided to show off some of his soccer skills.
One of India's most composed batsmen Cheteshwar Pujara appeared enjoying the rainy weather. "Looks like someone is enjoying the rains here in Cape Town #TeamIndia," Indian Cricket Team said on Instagram.
Earlier, Indian pacers Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya bowled a few spells before rain interrupted the practice session.
India, who have never won a Test series in South Africa, are scheduled to play three Tests, six ODIs and three T20Is on their two-month-long tour.
