As Virat Kohli and his men aim to complete a historic whitewash against Sri Lanka by winning the third and final Test starting on Saturday, the tourists today visited Ashok Vatika, a garden in Seetha Eliya village. Located in Sri Lanka's central province, this is believed to be the place where demon king Ravana (also the Great King of Lanka), a mythological character in ancient Hindu epic Ramayana, held Lord Rama's wife Goddess Sita captive. The place is now famous for the Seetha Amman Temple, one of the very few temples dedicated to Goddess Sita.

Team India fast bowler Mohammed Shami shared pictures of their visit on Twitter. Along with Shami, wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav and Lokesh Rahul can been seen with their families in the pictures.

Umesh, who has been leading India's pace attack for quite some time now, took to Instagram to post a snap with his wife standing next to what he described as the "footmark of Lord hanuman ji".

The players seemed relaxed and in jovial mood after claiming the Test series, their second on Sri Lankan soil in two years.
