Disgraced former Australian captain Steven Smith is all set to return to competitive cricket after arriving in Canada for the inaugural Global T20 League, which begins on Thursday.
This will be Smith's first competitive appearance since March this year when he along with David Warner and Cameron Bancroft were banned following the ball-tampering saga that played out in the Cape Town Test against South Africa. (Also Read: Virat Kohli, Team India look to improve T20I rankings)
Smith will be joined by the likes of Darren Sammy and Kieron Pollard as they turn up for the franchise - Toronto Nationals - along with UAE internationals Rohan Mustafa and Mohammad Naveed. His partner-in-crime during the ball-tampering episode, Warner will also feature in the tournament for Winnipeg Hawks.
West Indians Sunil Narine, Chris Gayle and Andre Russell are among other internationals to take part in the cash-rich league.
