Australia enhanced their spin bowling attack when left-arm spinner Steve O'Keefe was named on Wednesday to replace injured fast bowler Josh Hazlewood for the second Test against Bangladesh beginning September 4 in Chittagong. Cricket Australia also confirmed that Hazlewood would return home with a side strain. Hazlewood left the field on Tuesday on the second day of the first Test with soreness on his left side.

Cricket Australia also said that Kane Richardson would replace Hazlewood in the one-day international squad for their tour of India.

National selector Trevor Hohns expressed confidence on going into the final Test with Pat Cummins and back-up quick Jackson Bird as the only specialist seamers in the 14-man squad.

"With Jackson Bird in the squad we are comfortable with our fast-bowling options for the second Test and have elected to add an additional spinner given the conditions we are likely to face in Chittagong," cricket.com.au quoted Hohns as saying.
