Afridi has blamed India for acting without proof on Pulwama attack.

The cricket relations between India and Pakistan are strained than ever in the wake of the Pulwama terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir recently. While there have been a number of calls for banning Indo-Pak cricket, even from the World Cup 2019, former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has backed his country's Prime Minister Imran Khan by saying that India shouldn't blame Pakistan for the attack without proof.

“Without any proof, they are putting all the blame onto Pakistan straight away. PM Imran Khan has once again spoken on this matter in a positive & clear way to explain that Pakistan wants to have good relations with not only India but also Afghanistan, Iran & China,” Afridi was quoted as saying by a Pakistani journalist.

Former cricketer-turned-PM Imran Khan on Tuesday had denied any link of his country with Pulwama attack.

“Pakistan is moving towards stability. Why at this time we will act in this way? This is a new Pakistan. We do not support terrorism,” said Khan.

However, he cautioned that if India attacks Pakistan, his country will retaliate.

"We have no intentions of war but if India will attack, we will definitely retaliate," said the Pak PM.

After a huge public outcry over the attack, IMG-Reliance pulled out of the broadcasting of Pakistan Super League (PSL), an act which didn't go down well with Afridi. The dashing cricketer said that it was proof that they (IMG-Reliance) were not educated otherwise they wouldn't behave in such a manner.

"You find out who your friends are at difficult times. What are they trying to show the world that they are educated? Educated people don't behave in such a manner," Afridi said.
