As India take on England in the 2nd Test at the iconic Lord's, son of legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun, was seen providing a helping hand to the ground staff during the second day of the second Test at Lord's.
After wrapping up the Under-19 tour last month in Sri Lanka, with spare time on his hand, pacer Arjun decided to lend a helping hand as the ground staff had more work to do than the cricketers as it has been raining relentlessly at Lord's.
As Arjun works on his technique and skills with the MCC Young Cricketers, the pacer helped out during the match to place the covers as rain has been playing spoilsport. Day 1 of the second Test was washed out without a single ball being bowled.
The Lord's Cricket Ground's official Twitter account lauded Arjun on his efforts, stating, 'Not only has he been training with @MCCYC4L recently & but he has also been lending a helping hand to our Groundstaff!'
Whilst Arjun was near the sidelines, his father, Sachin Tendulkar, was supposed to ring the Lord's bell before the match on Thursday. However, to his disappointment, the Master Blaster was left dejected after rain washed out the entire day.
Tendulkar's caption wrote,'Was all set to ring the bell at Lords to start off the 2nd Test today, but unfortunately the weather had other plans.
Hopefully, we’ll get to see some good cricket over the next 4 days.'
In his debut for the India Under-19 side, Arjun, who is a left-arm bowler, ended his tour with figures 1/33, 1/32 and was dismissed for a duck in the first match. In the second, he scored 14 runs and bowled spells of 0/33 and 1/39.
Recently, Arjun was also seen alongside England Women's cricket team's batswoman, Danielle Wyatt.
Wyatt is known to most Indian fans as four years ago, she proposed to Team India's captain, Virat Kohli for marriage.
The Virat Kohli led Team India trail the five-match Test series 1-0 against hosts England.
