In yet another jolt to Sanju Samson's so far sporadic career, the young wicketkeeper-batsman was left out of India 'A' tour of England after he reportedly failed to clear the Yo-Yo fitness test.
According to a report in the Mumbai Mirror, Samson fared poorly in the Yo-Yo test and was way short of the prescribed mark of 16.1.
The report added that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) took note of Samson's performance in the test and decided not to send him to England.
The India A side, which is led by Shreyas Iyer, has left for England and Samson was not part of it. The BCCI is yet to name Samson's replacement.
Samson was part of the India A side which will take on hosts England Lions in a triangular ODI series, involving West Indies A. The tour will start on June 22 with the ODI tri-series.
India A will also play a four-day Test against England A from July 16-19 in Worcester along with two three-day games against county sides.
Samson was in good touch during the Indian Premier League 11, scoring 441 runs at an average of 31.50 for Rajasthan Royals. He also hit three half-centuries.
