Former India captain and batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar on Monday urged micro-blogging website Twitter to take down the fake profiles created in the name of his son Arjun and daughter Sara Tendulkar. The Little Master, as he is best known in the cricketing world, had in 2014 requested Twitter to deactivate the fake accounts but it seems that no action was taken in this regard.

On Monday, Tendulkar, who is the highest run-scorer in the history of the game, again made a request to block the fake accounts running in Arjun and Sara's name.

"I reiterate the fact that my children Arjun & Sara are not on twitter. We request @Twitter to remove all such accounts at the earliest," Tendulkar tweeted.

Tendulkar followed it up with another tweet, thowring light on the perils of fake accounts. "Impersonation wreaks havoc, creates misunderstanding and traumatises us. I appeal to the platforms to take corrective measures immediately," he said.

Tendulkar's son Arjun was selected in the Mumbai Under-19 squad to play in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. Arjun, who is a fast bowler, has also represented the state in the U-16 tournament in 2015-16 and played in the 'B' division of the Dr HD Kanga Cricket League for Parel Cricket Club.

Meanwhile, after calling time on his international career in 2013, Tendulkar has been active on Twitter, wishing present and former cricketers on their birthdays and congratulating other sportspersons on their feats.

Tendulkar played in 200 Tests and 463 ODIs, scoring 15921 and 18426 runs, respectively.

In 2014, Tendulkar was conferred the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award.
