India's batting great Sachin Tendulkar heaped praises upon captain Virat Kohli after he became the first Indian to score a hat-trick of hundreds in the ODI cricket. Scoring a 107-run knock in the third ODI against West Indies, the 29-year-old Delhi batsman achieved this rare feat in Pune on Saturday.

Even though Kohli's century could not help India win, he garnered acclaim for his consistent batting from both fans and critics alike.

Calling him a "special player", Tendulkar said on Twitter: "A hat-trick of hundreds is just an incredible feat by a special player. Well done @imVkohli."

Former India opener and Tendulkar's teammate Virender Sehwag also congratulated Kohli for his "formidable centuries". He also suggested the Indian team to sort out a few things ahead of the next match.

"Match 3, results 3 bhinn. Wonderful effort from West Indies to win one and tie one despite Kohli’s formidable centuries. India need to sort out a few things and hope they take positive learnings from this loss," Sehwag wrote on Twitter.

Veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh also joined in the celebration, saying: "KOHLI 100 no-38 first Indian batsman to score 3 hundreds in a row... take a bow champion."

West Indies defeated India by 43 runs in the third ODI to level the five-match series 1-1.
