Celebrating India's world title triumph over arch-rivals Pakistan, several cricket stars wished the Indian Blind Cricket team for their brilliant two-wicket win in an edge of a seat contest to retain the World Cup trophy in Sharjah on Saturday.

Batting first, Pakistan amassed 308 runs, courtesy some useful contribution by Badar Munir (57), Riasat Khan (48) and captain Nisar Ali (47).

Sunil Ramesh played a match-winning knock of 93 and led the run chase for the men in blue who overhauled the target with eight balls to spare to retain the trophy.

India had earlier won the coveted title in 2014 after beating the same opponents at Cape Town, South Africa. Earlier, India had beaten Pakistan on January 13 in the group stage. The defending champions had beaten Bangladesh by seven wickets in the semi-final.

Here are some of the overwhelming congratulatory tweets for the World Cup winners:

The Cricket Association of Bengal congratulated the Indian blind team for successfully defending the Cricket World Cup for Blind beating Pakistan by two wickets.

"Winning any global tournament back to back is never easy. This very fact needs to be looked upon in a very positive mind frame," CAB joint secretary Avishek Dalmiya told PTI.

"We hope that the BCCI would consider initiating steps to promote or encourage such talented cricketers in whatever way that may be practically possible for it," he added.

Congratulations Team India!
