After winning the 2019 IPL trophy, Rohit Sharma chose to spend quality time with his family in the Maldives. The Mumbai Indians skipper led his team to their fourth IPL triumph on May 12 against Chennai Super Kings in a nail-biting thriller by 1 run.
Rohit has been receiving a lot of praise for his captaincy skills in IPL as he scored 405 runs, including 2 fifties in 15 matches and led his team from the front with bat.
The next challenge for the Mumbai-born batsman is World Cup and before that, a break was necessary to relax the mind and that is exactly what the Team India vice-captain was seen doing.
Rohit posted a couple of photos on his Instagram account with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and baby girl Samaira.
Ritika and Samaira were also seen supporting the blue camp during the IPL matches.
After the win, Mumbai Indians' owner also organised a road show on a bus to thank their fans for their support throughout the season.
Rohit was in full praise for his players for their consistent show in the tournament, "We do believe in each others' ability and we do believe in planning strategies."
"Luckily for me, I have a staff around me which is so good at that, in terms of planning and making those crucial decisions and strategies. Because I am a firm believer in having planning. Whatever game you play, you have to go with a plan and have some sort of strategies around the opposition. I've seen IPL from close quarters, you need to be a little dynamic."
In World Cup 2019, a lot of responsibility will be on Rohit, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli's shoulder as according to many cricket pundits India are one of the favourites to lift the trophy after 1983 and 2011.
