The first match of the three-match ODI series will be played on January 12 at Sydney Cricket Ground.

After beating Australia in a historic Test series by 2-1 after 71 years, the Indian cricket team is all seat to face the mighty Kangaroos in three-match ODI series. Team India's limited overs specialists are already off to Australia to join the rest of the team. 

India's limited overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma flew back alongside Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Ambati Rayudu, Yuzvendra Chahal, Ambati Rayudu and Khaleel Ahmed to lock horns against the depleted Australian side who were humiliated at their own soil in Test series by the Asian giants. The first match of the ODI series will be played  on January 12th at Sydney Cricket Ground. 

Allrounder Jadhav shared photos with Rohit and Dhoni on his Twitter handle. He posted, "Off to Australia with Dhoni and Rohit."

Rohit who was part of India's Test team flew back to the country after the birth of his first born. Rohit uploaded the picture of his daughter alongside wife Ritika Sajdeh and used a few lines of Maroon 5's song 'Girls Like You' to caption it. The Team India ODI vice-captain also shared their daughter's name below -- Samaira.

Earlier, Virat Kohli-led Indian team entered the annals of history on Monday by winning their first-ever Test series in Australia.

After the visiting team won the Adelaide and Melbourne Tests, the fourth and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) here ended in a draw as no play was possible on the last day due to continuous downpour. India clinched the series 2-1.

Cheteshwar Pujara was the main force behind India's historic series win as the Saurashtra batsman accumulated 521 runs, averaging 74.43 and in the process slamming three tons. Kohli chipped in with 282 runs.

Pacer Jasprit Bumrah turned out to be the most effective bowler for the visitors by bagging 21 wickets in the Border-Gavaskar series, while his partner Mohammed Shami scalped 16 wickets.
